A SEASON OF REVIVAL

Sometimes I feel a deep resistance within the traditional church experience.

I find myself praying,
“God, they are shouting and I am crying.”

That is the tension surrounding a needed revival.

Some people celebrate while Heaven mourns.
Some people are entertained while true prophets are burdened.
Some people call it peace while spiritually sensitive people can feel judgment approaching.

Why?

Because revival exposes hearts.

And one of the most terrifying realities in Scripture is that people can become spiritually seared.

A Seared Heart Cannot Feel God Properly

Paul warned about people having their conscience “seared with a hot iron” (1 Timothy 4:2).

A seared heart is dangerous because it slowly loses sensitivity to God.

Conviction no longer convicts.
Sin no longer feels sinful.
Compromise no longer feels dangerous.
Holiness no longer feels necessary.

A seared heart can hear truth and remain unmoved.
Watch destruction and feel nothing.
Sit through church services and never truly change.

This is what happens when people repeatedly resist God long enough.

The heart becomes hardened.
The conscience becomes numb.
And eventually people begin applauding what should make them tremble.

The Body of Christ Needs Revival

The Church does not merely need louder services.
The Church needs awakening.

Revival reminds people that:
God is still holy.
Sin is still destructive.
Repentance still matters.
And Jesus Christ is still the only Savior.

True revival does not entertain flesh.
It confronts it.

It breaks pride.
Exposes compromise.
Restores conviction.
And calls people back to genuine surrender.

Throughout Scripture, revival never began with comfortable people.
It began with broken people.

It began with tears.
Repentance.
Prayer.
Burden.
Humility.
And hearts desperate for God again.

The Evidence Revival May Be Near

Maybe the greatest evidence that revival is approaching is this:

Some people are dancing while others are weeping.

Some are celebrating the atmosphere while others are discerning the condition of hearts.
Some are enjoying religious activity while others are crying out for the return of God’s presence.

Because every revival in Scripture started when someone became burdened enough to recognize that spiritual routine was not enough anymore.

And perhaps the tears are not weakness at all.

Perhaps they are the first sign that Heaven is preparing to wake people up again.
