WORD SALAD
Honestly, one of the most disturbing things to me right now is how many people speak about God confidently without truly knowing His Word. We are overloaded with opinions, trends, motivational speeches, and recycled revelations, yet so little carries the wisdom, conviction, and anointing that actually changes lives. Everybody is talking, but very few are trembling before the truth and walking in love and holiness.
One of the greatest dangers in modern Christianity is not a lack of words or information. It is a lack of understanding.
- People quote verses without context.
- Preach emotions without surrender.
- Repeat revelations they never studied.
- Mix random Scriptures together hoping it sounds deep.
That is not spiritual maturity. That is word salad.
Word salad looks impressive at first. It sounds intelligent, passionate, and powerful. But once you listen closely, there is no biblical flow, no theological consistency, no exegetical integrity, and no evidence of prayerful surrender to God.
“For God is not the author of confusion…” (1 Corinthians 14:33).
Why We Must Be Students of Scripture
Without critical thinking and objectivity, people begin twisting Scripture to fit feelings, trends, trauma, politics, bitterness, or personal desires. Without hermeneutics, verses become weapons instead of wisdom. Without exegesis, people force meaning into the text instead of drawing meaning from it. Without prayer, knowledge becomes noise.
The Result?
A generation speaking constantly but saying nothing. Throwing around words that offer no real spiritual sustenance.
- Just because something is loud and authoritative does not mean it is sound.
- Just because it is emotional does not mean it is biblical.
- Just because it moves people does not mean it came from God.
Healthy doctrine has flow. Truth has alignment. Revelation carries substance. And all true revelation reveals Christ.
Jesus did not say man shall live by motivational speeches, viral clips, or fragmented opinions. He said:
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).
Word salad may look good on a plate. But it never feeds the soul.
moment: be still, and invite the Lord to apply what you have read.
