WHEN GOD IS PLEASED, EXPECT WARFARE

Let’s stop sugar-coating this. Do not think pleasing God will make your life peaceful, because it won’t.

It will make your life targeted. When you are approved by God, you will be hunted by the devil.

“This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17).

God speaks. Then immediately… “Then was Jesus led… to be tempted of the devil” (Matthew 4:1).

Not a delay. Not a break. Not a celebration season. Immediate confrontation.

If you are waiting for a quiet life after obedience, you do not understand the kingdom.

Obedience Makes You Visible

Disobedience keeps you irrelevant. Obedience puts a target on you.

Satan does not waste time on people already drifting. He studies people who just aligned.

So when you finally:

Cut that sin off.
Forgive that person.
Submit to God.
Answer the call.

And suddenly everything intensifies…

That is not confusion. That is confirmation.

Stop Calling Warfare “Something’s Wrong”

This is where much of the religious community is blind.

You obey God for real. Then temptation hits harder than ever.

And you panic:

“Why is this happening?”
“I thought I was doing better?”
“Maybe I missed God…”

No.

You finally hit the nerve of purpose. And hell felt it.

Satan Attacks What God Just Affirmed

God said, “This is my Son.” Satan said, “If you are…” (Matthew 4:3).

Same tactic. Every time.

God affirms. Satan questions. God establishes. Satan destabilizes.

And if you are not grounded, you will start doubting what God already settled-not because God changed His mind, but because you entertained another voice.

Distraction Is the Enemy’s Favorite Weapon

Not always sin. Not always evil. Just unnecessary.

Wrong conversations.
Wrong focus.
Wrong priorities.
Right things at the wrong time.

Because if he cannot make you fall, he will make you drift.

And drift does not feel dangerous until you realize how far you have wandered from God’s presence.

Look at the Pattern

Once you have been blessed, expect your greatest test.

Eve had everything, then got distracted (Genesis 3:1-5).
David was anointed, then hunted (1 Samuel 16:13; 18:8-11).
Elijah called down fire, then wanted to die (1 Kings 18:38; 19:3-4).

Noah obeyed, then was exposed after getting drunk (Genesis 6:22; 9:20-21).
Abraham received a promise, then faced famine and responded in fear (Genesis 12:2-3, 10-13).
Lot was rescued, then compromised (Genesis 19:16, 30-36).

Moses was used greatly, then struck the rock and lost access (Exodus 33:11; Numbers 20:10-12).
Samson was anointed, then seduced (Judges 14:6; 16:16-21).
Hezekiah was healed, then lifted in pride (2 Kings 20:5-6, 12-13).

Peter received revelation, then was rebuked (Matthew 16:16, 23).
The disciples were commissioned, then argued about greatness (Luke 22:24).
Paul received revelation, then was given a thorn (2 Corinthians 12:2-7).
Israel was delivered, then complained (Exodus 16:2-3).

Jesus was affirmed, then tempted (Matthew 3-4).

This is not random. This is rhythm-a pattern seen throughout Scripture.

You Are Not Under Attack Because You’re Weak

You are under attack because you moved.

You shifted. You obeyed. You got serious.

And now the enemy is trying to interrupt what you just activated.

The Real Problem: You Relax Too Early

You finally obey God… then you ease up.

You stop pressing.
You stop guarding.
You stop praying like you did when you were desperate.
You stop studying the Word.

And that is when you get hit.

Not because God left. Because you got casual.

Jesus did not celebrate the voice from heaven. He fortified Himself with the Word.

“It is written…” (Matthew 4:4, 7, 10).

Three times. No emotions. No debates. No explanations. Only truth.

This Is the Warning

The moment God is pleased with your obedience, do not relax, do not drift, and do not entertain anything He did not send.

Because what shows up next is not random. It is assigned.

And if you do not recognize it, you will sabotage the very thing God just approved.

Let’s Talk About This

You wanted to be used. You wanted to grow. You wanted to please God.

This is what comes with it:

Pressure.
Pull.
Voices.
Distractions.

So here is the real question:

Will you stay locked in after heaven already spoke?

Because getting God’s approval is one thing. Holding your position afterward is where most people fall.

When God is pleased, that moment matters most. Make simple choices, one after another, that either keep you where you belong or Satan will slowly pull you away. Stay sharp, stay honest, and do not let the enemy deteriorate your discipleship.

Pause

moment: be still, and invite the Lord to apply what you have read.

Reflect

Days 1–2
  • What line from this lesson is God pressing on your heart?
  • Where might pride, fear, or distraction be resisting obedience?
Days 3–4
  • Which scripture references will you re-read slowly in context this week?
  • Who needs an encouraging word rooted in what you learned?
Days 5–7
  • What is one concrete step of obedience you will take?
  • How will you remember this lesson after the week ends?

Respond

SEEK HIS FACE

Lord, thank You for this week’s word. Shape my heart by Scripture, not by noise or status. Where I have chased recognition, return me to simple obedience. Let the truth I have read bear fruit in love and humility. Amen.

Walk it out

  • Re-read one key passage from this lesson in the KJV, in full context.
  • Share one sentence of encouragement with another believer.
  • Take one quiet act of obedience you have been postponing.
  • Pray briefly each morning: “Lord, let Your word rule my choices today.”

The Lord is good.
