Life has a way of knocking us off our feet. It may have been a divorce, a broken relationship, a failed dream, or circumstances beyond your control. You might feel disabled by disappointment or paralyzed by the weight of past hurts. You may even feel abandoned by the very people who were supposed to protect your heart.
Take heart, because this is exactly where God shows His power. Consider Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan and grandson of King Saul. As a child, his world fell apart. His father and grandfather were killed, and while fleeing, he suffered a life-changing accident, becoming crippled in both feet. He could have been overlooked, forgotten, or dismissed. But God's favor did not end there.
Years later, King David sought him out and restored him, giving him a place at the king's table, a place of honor and provision. Mephibosheth could no longer walk, but he did not need to. God had already reserved for him a seat of favor.
This is your story too. No matter what life has taken from you, no matter how powerless or crippled circumstances have left you feeling, you are not forgotten. You still have a seat at God's table. God's plan for your life is unchanged, unstoppable, and full of hope. Remember Jeremiah 29:11. God's plans are to prosper you, not to harm you, and to give you a future and hope. Life may have knocked you down, but it cannot stop what God has already destined for you. Things may not always work out in the way we expect, but it will unquestionably work out in your favor if you love God.
